Our journey from Sigiriya to Kandy was quite an experience. The Scenic Bus Ride to Kandy offered stunning views, and we decided to get off near Kandy Lake—a picturesque spot teeming with life. The Natural Beauty of Kandy Lakewas evident as we walked around, enjoying the cool, pleasant weather and spotting many birds and reptiles basking in the water.

Arriving at Kandy IVY Banks Holiday Resort after a 3 km walk, our first impression of the hotel was disappointing. The room was in poor condition, with a worn-out table and rugged towels, though the washroom was nice. When I questioned the host about our booking, A Frustrating Exchange with the Host ensued. Despite showing him our booking details, he insisted that we had only paid for a cheaper room.

As the weather was quite humid, we opened the doors, but this led to A Battle with Mosquitoes in the room. Later, we ventured out for dinner and explored the area around Kandy Lake. We found a cozy restaurant where we enjoyed tea and hoppers, packing our dinner to take back with us. However, The Disappointing Atmosphere Around Kandy Lakebecame apparent as the noise and smoke from surrounding roads detracted from the beauty of the area.

Upon returning to our hotel, A Disheartening Evening at the Resort followed. The common hall was messy, other guests were noisy, and the WiFi wasn’t working. Although we were frustrated, it was just one night, so we decided to make the best of it and get some sleep. Tomorrow, we plan to Explore Kandy’s Temples and Beautiful Areas around the lake, hoping for a much better experience.
