पोथी पढ़ि-पढ़ि जग मुवा, पंडित भया न कोइ।

एकै आखर प्रेम का, पढ़ै सो पंडित होइ॥

पोथी पढ़ि-पढ़ि जग मुवा, पंडित भया न कोइ।
इस पंक्ति में कबीर दास कह रहे हैं कि संसार के लोग जीवन भर पोथियाँ पढ़ते हैं, धार्मिक ग्रंथों का अध्ययन करते हैं, लेकिन फिर भी कोई सच्चा विद्वान नहीं बन पाया। वह यह इंगित कर रहे हैं कि केवल पुस्तकों और शास्त्रों का ज्ञान प्राप्त करने से वास्तविक ज्ञान या सच्ची समझ नहीं मिलती।
